In a faculty meeting at the Department of Mechanical Engineering held today, Asst. Professor Dr. Nawraj Bhattarai was appointed as the new Head of Department. The selection was carried out after presentations from two candidates about their plan for their tenure, followed by joint discussion among the faculties. At the end of the session, the faculty meeting agreed to appoint Dr. Bhattarai as HOD. Dr. Bhattarai will assume office from the new semester, with the current HOD, Assoc. Professor Dr. Rajendra Shrestha, handing over his position to the appointee.
In addition, Assoc. Professor Dr. Laxman Poudel was appointed to the position of coordinator of the M.Sc. Mechanical Engineering in Mechanical Systems Design and Engineering through a unanimous decision of the faculty meeting.
The meeting was also attended by the Dean of IOE, Prof. Dr. Tri Ratna Bajracharya, along with the Vice Dean Prof. Ram Chandra Sapkota, both of who expressed their opinion on DME’s challenges, aspirations, and its future.
