About

Sudip Bhattrai is an IOE faculty member for aerospace engineering, since 2014. He completed his BE and MSc in Aerospace Engineering from NUAA in 2011 and 2014. He completed his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from UNSW Canberra in 2021. He is also a visiting academic at UNSW Canberra.

Sudip’s research is primarily focused on hypersonic airbreathing vehicles and propulsion systems. He uses experimental and numerical techniques to investigate problems in hypersonic/supersonic and subsonic aerodynamics, detonation phenomena, reactive flows, and aircraft flight performance and operations. He also contributes to projects on energy and power engineering and rural development.

His projects have been funded by the US Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and other international organizations.
