The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering announces the opening for Research Engineer positions. The full-time aerospace engineering positions are funded by the US Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR-AOARD). Two roles are especially sought to be filled by this call for application:
 1. Research Engineer (1 position): UAS
 2. Research Engineer (1 position): Flight Performance and Operations
Candidates may apply to both positions, but must send separate applications.

Maximum term for the positions is 2 years, with the contract renewed every 6 months.

रू50-60k / month, plus travel allowance as provisioned in the project.
The Project: Investigation of the features of near-terrain flight (US Air Force AOARD FA2386-23-1-4007)

The project aims to characterise, and enhance the safety, of near-terrain operation of aircraft.

You will study the features of near-terrain flight in close proximity of sub vertical topography, through experiments and simulations. To fundamentally investigate the flight characteristics, you will develop experimental aerial platforms to collect flight dynamic, aeroelastic, and performance data during the near-terrain flights. The experimental data will also support the development and validation of flight dynamics and operations, and aeroelasticity solvers.
