The newly appointed Head of Department, Dr. Nawraj Bhattarai, and Deputy Head of Department, Asst. Prof. Rudra Ghimire, were welcomed to their chairs by DME faculties in a welcome program held today at the department. The new appointees were congratulated by the Dean of the Institute of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Tri Ratna Bajracharya, and the Campus Chief of Pulchowk Campus, Prof. Dr. Gokarna Bahadur Motra.
Also in the event, Dr Rajendra Shrestha and Dr. Sanjeev Maharjan, outgoing HODs of the department, were given tokens of appreciation for their excellent service tenures. Dr. Shrestha had been serving in the position of department HOD for the past eight years, while Dr. Maharjan was the department Dy. HOD of past two years.
In an informal discussion session held at the Office of the HOD during the event, HOD Dr. Bhattarai reaffirmed his commitment to his position and shared his vision for the department. Similarly, Dy. HOD Ghimire discussed ideas for streamlining B.E. courses and lecture routines. In addition, several DME professors discussed about current general problems and expectations for improvement in the coming years in presence of the IOE Dean and Pulchowk Campus Chief.
